Norwegian National Day

Celebrate the Norweigan national day, Nasjonaldagen, at Skansen with people in national costume, music, speaches and a lot of fun.

  • Skansen’s syttende mai celebration 2026

    The Norwegian national day, referred to as Nasjonaldagen or syttende mai (seventeenth of May) in Norway, is a public holiday that takes place on the 17th of May every year. The day is celebrated in great style not only in Norway but also in Stockholm and at Skansen.

    The celebration consists of a parade from the city center to Skansen, as well as a program on the Solliden stage with speeches, music and entertainment, games for children, a church service and of cource the national anthem – in other words, most of what also happens in Norway!

    Welcome to enjoy the amazing atmosphere among the beautiful national costumes and Norwegian flags.
